Nothing’s Perfect

6 Feb

This week in French music, we’re doing things a little different. After looking over previous installments, I realized that all the artists were men. Okay, so there’s one lady singer in Shaka Ponk, but the point still stands. Clearly, this can’t go on. So today, we’re looking at the very awesome Tal. Tal is an Israeli-born French singer who’s been burning up the charts with a couple of songs and collaborations.

“Rien n’est parfait” is a fun, dance/pop song. It kind of reminds me of a Rihanna number, only in French. Plus, it’s hard to go wrong with a message of “nothing’ is perfect, so enjoy what happiness comes your way”.

Tal only sings the hook on “M’en Aller”, but it’s a favorite just for the music video. Somehow, they managed to get empty shots of the most tourist infested portions of Paris. I’ve only seen the Tuileries that empty once, and it was freezing cold and raining buckets.

This last song is her first hit, “La sens de la vie”. I rather like the version with L’Algerino. It’s got a better beat.
